Coronavirus.  This is a word I have come to dislike very much. In my life no such event has created so much sickness, death, and economic disarray as this one.  Over 7,000,000,000 souls have been affected by this virus in some way or another.  This could potentially be the worst event to occur in our lifetime.

I learned from my parents when I was just a child to always ask one question when everything goes to hell in a handbasket:

What is the silver lining around this black cloud?

It took me a while to see it, especially with so much chaos happening, but I saw it and I want to pass it on to you.

First, we must look at what this virus is doing to all of us.  It is driving us apart.  It is keeping us from each other.  It is causing sickness and death at alarming rates.  Our first responders are literally risking their lives to save us. Our economies have not seen such turmoil since 1929.  Never in our lives have we had to isolate ourselves from each other in this manner.

Right now, there is just fear. The fear is ruling us.  All we are learning is how to avoid the virus and each other.  But we need to understand there are no coincidences.  Everything happens for a reason, and that reason is:

That is what this is all about.  That is what we’re supposed to learn from all this chaos.  No matter how different we are, we still need to do our BEST for each other.  This is what we must do, so all these deaths are not in vain.
